Thanks for the comment. I believe that there is more to being "salt and light" than singing praise songs and going to church. For us to really express to a lost and dying world the message of Christ, he should permeate every part of our lives. This includes our businesses and our use of the profits derived from that business.

You are hitting on a very important question. What is it to be a Christian in a capitlistic environment? I believe that you brought up some key points - Treating people with biblical values, getting involved in the community, these are very simple but can make a profound effect if done in earnest. Ken Costa (author of God at Work) did a speech recently where he said Christians in business need to move from providing "goods and services" to actually doing good and being of service. I think he's got it right.

Great Post! Prayer is really the most powerful weapon on Earth. We should seek God first before we make major decisions in life.

Should a Christian market wealth? I have struggled with this question for years. Jesus said "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world, for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life are not of the Father, but are of the world (1 John 2:15) Pushing the "dream" always felt like I was going against this scripture. I don't mean to say that a Christian can't be wealthy. I think it all has to do with their focus. Is wealth used to make a difference in furthering God's kingdom? I also agree with your five points for Christian networkers. If those of us who call ourselves Christ followers were to adopt them, then God would be glorified in our businesses. Good point...well said. You have my respect as a leader in this industry. God bless you Dave.
